MUD and SHADOWS!

Wow!  It was such a fun week and sooooo good to have a full week of loving, learning and playing with our class.   Farm life in the "pre spring/mud season" is always a mess and the work is much harder, but the kids LOVE it so much and their creativity and discovery is at new heights as they work together in a new world of imagination.  I absolutely love seeing them enjoy the outdoors so much!  The farm chores are now at a level that I can sit back and watch(and sometimes have to tell them that the goats and donkey have enough hay...they spoil them) and praise Jesus that I have a class of children who care so deeply about taking care of animals and showing them compassion and love.  Watching them scoop the chicken feed, carry the hay and talk to the animals with love, just melts me heart in a puddle of gratitude.  Thank you for sending them to our preschool and seeing the importance of allowing children to truly be children.  This is a phase in their life that is often taken away by desks and worksheets with a little bit of play and I will continue to fight for our broken world to get away from this new way of teaching young children.  The research is there and I think we try, but our society just struggles to allow a little bit of freedom, more problem solving, and an environment where they have to learn to be safe and not just kept in a "safe" bubble.  We can do this!   Okay, enough.  I have written so many research papers, that my brain can go into overdrive.  ;)

We are going to have a different week this week with me being gone most of the week.  Thank goodness I have an assistant who could run this place without me(although, she may struggle to allow them to get as muddy) ;)  and a sub who is the best of the best when it comes to understanding children and believing in them.  It will be fun week for them, but man, it's going to be hard for me to leave.  Routine is so important to these kiddos, so have grace as things look different and they are all excited for spring break!
