Falling in Love!

It always takes a little time, but when I really start to know my students, I fall madly in love with them. It has happened, I miss them when they are sick and Monday morning never comes soon enough. I love our classroom full of smiles and giggles! We are learning soooo much and I am already so super proud of these kiddos. The excitement to learn new things is so alive right now and it is very exciting!

We have ended our study on caterpillars and the amazing life cycle that we witnessed in our classroom and now we are learning about all things fall! We voted on our next study and studying apples won by 1 vote. We are learning about comparing which has more or less and have been investigating quantities. We had an entire math lesson by watching the chickens on top of the coop on Thursday. We observed as 1 chicken flew to the top of the coop and eventually we had five. We had to subtract as one-by-one, they flew down. Thank you, chickens!

Next week, we will learn about how apples grow and on Monday we will be making homemade applesauce! Yummy! We can learn so much while we cook!

As we enter cooler days, remember to send jackets with your little ones and rubber boots are great for our outdoor adventures!

I am excited to announce that our goat is ready to be milked and I will be allowing students to have an amazing experience milking her. She has no idea what she is in for. ;) I have a friend who will be coming to teach a lesson on making lotion with goats milk sometime this fall. I am so happy that I can share the joys of animals with our students!

Reminder! No school on October 13th!

Our fall party will be on Thursday, October 30th. Please sign up for snacks, crafts,or games on the sign-in table at preschool. Due to children having an abundance of candy on Halloween, lets try and keep our snacks and drinks as healthy as we can. I really feel it is important to teach our children about healthy eating. Trail mix, popcorn, string cheese, fruit, veggies, etc., are all great choices!

Thanks for a great start to an amazing year!
