Week 3

I can't believe how fast the weeks are going by. Now that we are into a routine, we are going to begin our weekly letter and color study. This week we will focus on the letter "L" and the color blue. We do not learn our letters in alphabetical order, but instead, we begin with the letters that are easiest to write. We use the curriculum, "Handwriting Without Tears", which really helps with building confidence and ending frustration with forming letters.

This week we continued learning about caterpillars and butterflies. We had our first official journal writing where we drew pictures of the stages of the life cycle that we have already enjoyed and learned about. Hopefully, this week, we will be able to draw a butterfly and make some beautiful butterfly crafts!

We have enjoyed lots of self-expression with water colors and also did some more organized painting, which has been a messy blast!

I am excited for a new week of healthy children! Please remember to keep your child home for 24 hours after a fever. It is very important that your child washes their hands as soon as they arrive to school or use the hand sanitizer near the entrance. Hopefully by teaching the importance of hand washing and covering coughs, we can avoid the viruses that seem to be spreading.

Many blessings and hugs!

Ms. Hollie and Ms. Jill
