We have had a fun start to our February, despite the illness in our classroom. I am praying that everyone starts to feel better and that the fewer days next week will give everyone some much needed rest. THERE IS NO SCHOOL ON FEBRUARY 15th and 19th for professional development days.
Our Valentine's Day party will be on February 14th and each student is asked to bring a box or bag, along with 19 Valentine cards for their friends. We will celebrate with games, dancing and crafts. I have decided to just have the students bring their own snack to keep things simple for everyone. We are excited to celebrate with your children.
We have started a new unit study on building and construction. The students are very interested in building strong foundations and seeing how tall their structures can be. We have also been very interested in how bridges are built. We will continue this study and see where it takes us, but its so fun to see the students so engaged with this study. Yesterday, we learned about measurement and each student is now able to measure in inches using a ruler. :) If your child missed out on this lesson, make some time to get rulers out and measure items around your house. :)
