Outdoor Fun!

We have been having an absolute blast outside with this amazing weather and the creativity that your children have shown.  I might be a bit obsessed with their current adventure of building a fort outside, which includes signs to welcome each other in, a kitchen with a pot for making lots of pumpkin soup. seats for all the company, lots of decorating with markers, shingles for the carpet and so much more.  You are more than welcome to check it out anytime during drop off or pick up...it's truly amazing and they make me so proud.  All of this with no toys provided, just an imagination and lots of material laying around and objects from nature.  Simple is best.  I love that these children can be proof to the world that less is more, nature is calming, animals bring us peace and teach us how to have empathy, teamwork is so important and love above all.

We have also started a project study on ramps that has been a huge hit.  Ron the armadillo is encouraged by the students to try out different inclines, even when Ron is nervous.  ;) We are learning about slopes, shapes of objects affecting how they go down the ramp and force so far.  We will continue this study until the students stop showing interest in it.

We will be so busy after Thanksgiving break with all the Christmas fun about to take place.

December 11th we will be decorating gingerbread houses and you are more than welcome to join us for that.  I will be building the houses prior to the party and the students will be decorating them.  I melt down sugar into a syrup to use as a "glue" for the graham crackers.  This day, I will be asking for donations to complete the houses and decorate them.  Look for a sign up genius soon.  :)

December 18th we will have our Polar Express Day and baking of a gingerbread man in my kitchen.   Please have your child wear their favorite pajamas to go for a "train ride" with hot cocoa. The gingerbread man may not be in the oven when we go to take him out and the hunt will be on....all through my house sweet little ones will run around in pajamas hunting for that sneaky little guy.  Shhhhh.  Don't tell them.  The magic is so alive on this day and the joy is beyond your wildest dreams.

December 19th is our Christmas program at Grace E Free Church at 7PM.  Please have your child at the church by 6:45 to get in their costumes.   This program is so special and helps us remember the true meaning of Christmas.  We will not have preschool on the 19th.  We have found that everyone is happier if we get to relax at home before the program.  Kelly and I will be setting up for the program on the 19th.
