We have already learned so much and I can't tell you how amazing it feels to have finally grabbed ALL of their attention during group time while learning fascinating facts about these amazing arachnids! The best part of our learning is that we take it outside with us and the spider and spider web hunts have been a new favorite. We already found several sheet webs and tangled webs around the farm and a mama spider guarding her egg sack. It doesn't get any better than that! Did you know that spiders turn their food into "soup" and that the framework of the web does not have elasticity like the inside of the web! Spiders are amazing architects!
Ask your kiddos how many body parts a spider has, how many legs, how many eyes and what their "feelers" are technically called. SO FUN!
So, we will continue our study on spiders and I have a feeling this could last long enough to do some amazing learning.
