Oviparous

We are having so much fun with our new unit study!  Ducklings, a gosling and chicks developing now!  What was I thinking!? " Hi, my name is Hollie Allen and I am an animal addict!"  It's all for the kids, it's all for the kids.  ;)

Really, our classroom is exploding with excitment and new knowledge of what we can see in our own backyard, as well as other oviparous animals.  We are so blessed to be surrounded by ponds that we can explore and watch the new life developing.  Mrs. Goose next door, may not like us very much, but it has been fun getting real life experience watching mama goose hatching those eggs.  Today we visited another pond, where we watched 2 pair of geese and 2 pair of mallards swimming around.

We looked at all the different colors, shapes and sizes of chicken and duck eggs today right from the backyard,  Some of us decided to check out the chicken coop and were amazed that a freshly hatched egg is still warm.  I love watching them learn about animals and appreciate the gifts that God has blessed us with.  My heart has been filled with joy the last few days as we have been able to see the kiddos run and play outside again...I love nature and children
