We had so much fun with bridges this week and there is so much to learn. When you are out and about with your children, notice the bridges around you and discuss what kind they are. We are almost through with this cycle of the alphabet. We just finished letter the letter Ww on Thursday. Keep practicing the sounds that go with each letter.
We have started working with several students on writing their names with just the first letter capital, as they have mastered using all uppercase. Ballard kindergarten wants students to come into kindergarten writing their names using lowercase after the initial letter. I never push a child to do lowercase until uppercase is mastered, as they require a lot more refined motor skills and we can't make their tiny muscles to work until they are ready. :)
VALENTINE'S DAY PARTY!
Our Valentine's day party will be on February 12th. Please watch for a sign up genius this week to volunteer for a craft, game or snack.
Have your child dress in their best, as we will be having a lovely Valentine's Day dance in our classroom to celebrate our love for one another. :)
Your child may bring a decorated box to class on the day of the party and have a card or treat for each child in the class to hand out. We have 20 students in the class. PLEASE just have your child sign their own name and don't address them to anyone. It is so hard to help each child get specified cards into the the correct box. IYKYK Thank you! Getting started on the task of writing their name 19 times is best spaced out and started early. I would start as soon as you can and have them sign five cards each night. It is exhausting for their tiny muscles to write their name 19 times at once.
Have a blessed weekend!
