More Ramping!

The students are still just as excited about ramps as they were when we started, so we will continue to learn!  This week, we explored if weight matters when we roll objects down a ramp, and the students discovered that the heavier items roll faster and further, we are still exploring and wondering about the science behind this.  Home experiments would be great to conduct during our snow storm this weekend!  :).
We also rolled cars in paint and then used a ramp to make art and we LOVED this project. On Thursday we learned the term, "inclined plane", ask your child what this means.  I love hearing them say it as they build in the block center! ;)
Next week, we will study obstaes in ramps and build a ramp with several different obstacles as a large group project.  I am so excited to watch them work and learn together on this classroom project.
Our bulletin board continues to display new pictures from our study, so during drop off, please take a few moments to look at them with your child.  They LOVE sharing their knowledge!
Enjoy some new pictures of another amazing week at The Big Red Barn!
